Giving credit for the future is part of our business

BDMG is committed to generating positive socioeconomic impact and fostering sustainable development. Its Strategic Plan 2025-2029 is aligned with the 2030 Agenda (Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs) and the State Climate Action Plan (PLAC) of Minas Gerais.

In June 2025, the Bank launched BDMG Verde, created with the purpose of expanding the reach of operations for projects focused on climate change.

In 2024, 54.5% of total disbursements (R$ 3.5 billion) were directed to initiatives connected to at least one of the SDGs, with emphasis on the promotion of clean energy (SDG 7), job creation (SDG 8), and urban development (SDG 11).

BDMG has finished the development of a CO₂ Calculator in concert with IDB to evaluate emissions, removals, and emission reductions from transactions financed by the Bank. The indicators obtained help with the making of strategic decisions, such as line and resource planning aimed at climate.
